Holy Angels’ ISC School was started in 1971 as a sister-school of the Holy Angels’ Convent School. Holy Angels Convent School, Trivandrum was founded in 1880 by Mother Mary Elias. The Holy Angels’ School run by the Carmelite nuns was started with the aim of providing value based education to the poor Catholics. The Congregation of Carmelite Religious (C.C.R) was founded by Mother Mary Theresa Veronica. The first group of Carmelite nuns arrived from Bayonne, France and set up the St Anne’s Convent in Mangalore. Also known as the Mother House, the nuns here were trained by Mother Veronica.
The new school (established in 1971), followed the ISC syllabus. Sister M. Xavier was its first Principal and the academic sessions began in January and ended in December. Students were admitted to classes from Standards I to VII.
Till 1990, the ISC School was housed alongside the Holy Angels’ Convent, in Vanchiyoor. It was then shifted to the present campus in Nanthencode. The school now offers the ISC and ICSE syllabi for its students
Focusing on the overall development of the individual, the school places emphasis on the physical, intellectual, moral and spiritual facets.
Rev. Sr. Linis Noronha, dynamic personality and a dedicated and committed teacher is our present Principal. The old charm of convent education is fast regaining popularity, thanks to the efforts of the dedicated teachers like Sr. Linis and the commitment shown by the faculty at the Holy Angels’ ISC School.
